Need to rename a datastore.

Dear team,

I have one SAN Lun mapped to one of the esx host, on that i have created a datastore, Now we are planing to do a proper naming convention of an exisitn g datastore , for that i need to rename a datastore . is it possible to rename a datastore where production vms resides ??? will it impact running vms which are stored on that datastore. ????

you can rename it no problem with no impact to your infrastructure.  It's simply an object name in vCenter
