I have a 70GB this provision virtual disk .. when i look at the summary of the actual vm the this provisioned stoarege shows 144GB . the disk mangement of the vm shows 70Gb.. am confused
You most likely have a snapshot of the VM. This causes you to actually provision the VM double the size, since in the worst case, every snapshot can grow as large as the base vmdk.
Also note that the provisioned space includes the size of the configured RAM for the VM swapfile (unless you have memory reservations).

Check the snapshot manager tree for that VM in the vSphere Client. Also check if you have delta-000000x.vmdk files in the directory of the datastore the VM is stored in.
