L2 Cache problem when install ESXi 5 on VMware Workstaion 8

I tried to test vSphere capability on a VM.

Then I got an error message.

"The measured L2 cache miss cost [some number] is not within the expected range, using 40 instead ..."

My machine spec is listed below ...

Host Machine:

CPU: Intel Xeon E5440 2.83 GHz

RAM: 8 GB

OS: Windows Server 2008 64-bit

Guest Machine:

CPU: 2 Processors x 2 Cores

Virtualization Engine: Automatic

RAM: 2 GB

Anyone has any idea about this? Thank you in advance!

That looks "normal," though I don't know why you ended up on the banner screen.  What happens if you click on the console window and press Alt-F2 to switch to the DCUI?

Running ESXi in a VM confuses the latency measurement.  Just ignore the message.

Is there anyway to skip this checking? This error prevents me from further installation. (They are in red meaning it is critical i guess Smiley Sad)

This error should not prevent installation.  Is this the last message you see?

There is another message telling me that a log file is in temporary scratch pad to look up i should consult the manual.

However, the screen freezes and there is no activity to both HDD or CD as I can see on the workstation's panel.

Btw, I'm trying to find a bare machine for the testing instead. WIsh I have my luck. Thank you for your answers Smiley Happy

Wow that ALT+F2 works like a charm. Is there any document about this key? Anyway, thank you a lot! That saved my life Smiley Happy

I don't know where the official documentation is, but the virtual terminals are correctly described here:
