Converter enterprise will not repair/reinstall

I was attempting to convert a machine and got an error about Ufad server not running. Another discussion talked about repairing or reinstalling the converter program. I tried to repair it and for the error "Failed to register the extension." I uninstalled the application, rebooted, tried re-installing and got the same error. I see nothing in the system logs as to about what the problem may be. Can anyone provide insight? This is the converter that came with update 4.

Thanks

Ken

Yes, I have tried running as Administrator on the local box, as well as two domain admin accounts. This is on win2k sp2.

Thanks

We did have a longer path. I changed it to c:\temp and it made no difference. The problem crops up when entering credentials. I have attached a screen shot.

Could you attach the installer's log? It is located in %temp% folder usually in "\Documents and settings\%username%\Local settings\Temp".

Attached the requested log. As you can see... have tried a few different times and with different ID's.

Unless I am missing something... it looks like it still has permissions... I ran filemon and regmon and attached the results.

can you check if cryptsvc is running ?

Cryptsvcis running.

As far as skipping the settings... it won't let me. I do have a ticket open with vmware but am not getting much for response. Mind you I did put it in as a low priority.

Yes. Administrator, mine (kaavallone) and the generic (virtualcenter). All work in the ViClient.

Installed the 2005 version as well. As well as repaired .net 2.0 install. Same issue. sigh

Tech support had me uninstall and reinstall the whole virtualcenter server. We made backups of databases and system dsn entries. This worked! Yay!

Thanks everyone for the help with trying to get this resolved.
