ESX 4.1.0 not detecting new Quad port nics

I came into work today to install some additional Quad Port NICs into our ESX 4.1 cluster.

I bought Intel Gig ET2 Quads to go with the Intel Pro/1000 PT Quads already installed on the hosts.

The ET2s are not detected by ESX but i can put another Pro/1000 PT in and that will show up.

The ET2 is on the HCL for esx4.1, so is it a matter of not being able to mix and match NICs? Or is there something I need to do to get it to load the drivers?

I wanted to get the ET2s in there for the network cpu offloading. but i don't have enough to replace all of the NICs outright.  We are in a transition stage and need more uplink ports for a few months but the ET2 seems like a better card.

There is a good chance that you may need to add drivers. http://www.vmware.com/download/vsphere/drivers_tools.html
