NFS settings

Hi Guys,

We are wondering if a restart or re-mount of a datastore is required if any of the advanced settings are changed for NFS to reflect the following changes

HeartbeatFrequency

HeartbeatTimeout

HeartbeatMaxFailures

Thanks!

I have never needed to do this before, though in most cases we configured these settings at build time, before mounting our NFS stores.

You are settings these settings per ESX host, not per Datastore, so the restart /mount of the datastore does not affect operation. If anything, you'd restart services on the ESX host.

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

No need to reboot, except for the NFS.MaxVolumes setting (I usually change this one too as 8 mounts is too little).
