Hello,
I've been tasked with starting the design of a View implementation for some of our remote users. I've read through the View 4.6 Architecture Planning document and am not totally clear on some of the port requirements.
Our implementation will use both PCoIP and RDP for the end-users who will be accessing via regular PCs. There will be no USB redirection or local-mode involved.
Basic Setup:
End User
------
External Firewall
____
View Secure Gateway Server
____
Internal Firewall
-------
View Connection Server
External firewall ports open:
443
4172
Internal firewall ports open:
443
8009
4001
3389
4172
Connection Server ports open
443
8009
4001
4100
443
4172
18443
389
636
In the case of the RDP users, I assume that all the data flow for their View session from the External Firewall to their End-User-Device will flow over 443?
In the case of the PCoIP users, what is 443 used for?
Would someone please verify the port list? I think it's right but I want to make sure before I go through the process of requesting the ports be opened since that takes rather long.
Thanks in advance!
Have a look at this page: Firewall Settings for VMware View at thatsmyview.net. It's incredibly detailed.
Authentication and authorization is performed over port 443. Port 4172 handles the PCoIP data transmission.
Welcome to the forums. In additon to the link already supplied please check out this document,http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-14974, prepared by Mark Benson. It's a great document for setting up PCOIP for use outside of the office.
can you check too http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1012382
Wow, thanks for the really quick replies! So, it looks like my firewall requirements are right. Agreed?
in the guide do you there all ports http://www.vmware.com/pdf/view-46-administration.pdf
