Hello
I installed on ESX 3.5 the HP SIM Agent Version-8.0.0.x.x. The Installation works without any error. I could integrate the ESX Host correct
to the HP SIM Management, but I have not all possiblities on HP SIM Management 5.1. For exsample I can't access the
HP Management Sites on the ESX via HP Management site.
I downloaded and installed the package "hpmgmt-8.0.0a-vmware3x". It seem to be, that the HP WEBServer isn't installed.
How can I fix this problem?
Thank you for some hints.
Hans-Peter
Hello,
Well you have a few issues. Check to be sure that hpsmh is installed, also check to see if port 2381 and 2301 are available. Basically when going from SIM to your ESX server it first hits port 2301 then gets redirected to port 2381. However, the firewall is only opened for port 2381.
This is a bug, and you should report it to HP for the HPSIM product. It is not necessarily an HPASM (Agents) problem but SIM not knowing where to go. Port 2301 should NOT be opened up as its a security hole.

Hello
I have tested hpsmhd daemon is runing. Port 2381 is open. When I execute HP Managements Site from my WEBbrowser
https://server:2381 I can access the WEB Site. On HP Insight Manager there is not assign a link on the "health status" entry.

Hello,
Correct. HPSIM is looking for port 2301 to be available for some reason. It is a bug I believe in the HPSIM product. YOu should report it to HP to get fixed.
