I have a question regarding what happends if i restar the mgmt-vmware service; will i only lose the connection to
ESX 3.0.x server host GUI?

Thanks for the quick reply. so i will not lose vm's nic in/out connection when restarting the service mgmt-vmware.
It depends...
If you have ESX 3.0.1 ( unpatched ) and you have auto-start enabled on the VMs, then all of your VMs will reboot.
As long as you are up to date with the ESX patches you will be fine. Previously, the VMs would lose connection, but this was fixed in one patch ... not sure which patch #
I just restarted the service maybe 30 minutes ago and all my VMs were fine.
Thanks, i run ESX 3.0.2 and the latest patches so i should be fine then.
