Clean Uninstall

Apparently, there's something wrong with my VMware setup (even if I do an uninstall followed by an install) that makes it so that the vmnet host adapters don't get configured properly when the product is installed.

I'm thinking that maybe there's a way to do a "clean" uninstall, so that any residual stuff that the uninstaller leaves around will get blown away--and maybe then I can fix this issue once and for all.

So... is there a way to do such a clean uninstall? I'd like to make sure that I can preserve my product key somehow: Is there a way to save it or extract it? Any other "gotchas" I should know about?

Thanks,

Chris

export HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMware Workstation\License.*

before you run the cleaner-tool

Peter,

Thanks; that looks very helpful.

Will that process preserve my license key in the registry, or blow it away?

If it blows it away, is there some way to retrieve it beforehand so I can use it on the re-installation?

Thanks,

Chris
