Just wondering if this is normal or not. Maybe it's not even possible to say what's considered normal, given all the variables involved.
Anyway, here's the condition: on my VM (the guest), CPU usage is almost always pegged at 100%, even when I'm not running anything within the VM. The VM has a 10G hard disk and 848 MB of memory. The version of VM Workstation is 6.0.0.
My host PC is an HP desktop running Windows XP with Service Pack 2, and not quite 3G of RAM.
So is it normal for the guest to be running at near 100% almost all the time, or are there things I can try to reduce the CPU usage within the guest? I'm new to VM Workstation, so there may be settings to tweak that I'm not aware of yet.
Also let me know if there's any other info I can provide to help with diagnosing this. Thanks.
