How to configure the storage LUNs to use the HA and DRS functions

Hi Experts,

We have four blade servers and each blase server connect two luns

How to configure the luns access privledge to use the HA and DRS funtions in netapp 6070 storage?

Use the Zone or bind the all luns to the HBA cards?

1st you make sure zoning is good and that you see your host from the san storage management software.

2nd you map those lun to a host group that contains all ESX that will be part of the HA/DRS cluster..

3rd you make a rescan of the storage on those hosts

and you should be able to see the storage from each host.

HA and DRS is configured in ESX and for this you just have to :

1: Share (zone and map) luns to each ESX hosts that will be in the DRS/HA cluster

2: have a License and enable it.

3: Configure a cluster and edit settings to enable/configure HA and DRS.

You are going to need zone and mask your LUNS exactly the same with all ESX servers

What's your san?

All you have to do is to present the same luns to all ESX hosts with the same Lun ID and set the file system type to VMware if your san supports it, Linux or Linux Cluster otherwise.
