vSphere Acceleration Kit and vCenter Config Manager Licensing

Hey Guys,

I just want to confirm if it's really not possible to use vSphere Midsize Acceleration Kit on two sites. I understand that this includes 1 vCenter Standard and 6 vSphere Enterprise Licenses.. Is it possible to use the first 4 vSphere Enterprise in the Primary Site and the 2 remaining Enteprise licenses will be installed in DR site which will be managed by the single instance of vCenter Standard located in Primary SIte.

Lastly, how do we license vCenter Config Manager?

I do not remember any site limitation for bundles.

Hi Andre,

I noticed on the description of the vSphere Midsize AK for 6 proc this:

"One   purchase per customer site. SnS is required.    Renewals will be based on the Acceleration Kit Bundle SnS prices   instead of the individual components in the kit. (Includes vSphere Enterprise   for 6 Processors, 1 vCenter Server Standard)"

Does it mean it's only applicable for one site (in this case, the primary site)?

One customes does not mean one site.

Or your remote site is from another customer?

Yes, it is possible to split your Accel Kit licenses between your two sites. Go to your license portal and look at your Enterprise lic's. There is a "Divide" button. Click it and designate your licenses accordingly. (BTW, there is also a "Combine" button should you want to change this in the future.)

The link below details how to "divide" your Accel Kit licenses so that you can move some of them to your DR data center:

Divide the quantity on a license key into several smaller license keys
