Update vcentre 7.03 to 8

Helloo.
There was a problem when updating the uplines server from version 7.03 to 8

when trying to update, the root OC password error crashes

After several attempts , the password is lost

I changed the password to another one, reset the number of incorrect passwords.
The time on both servers is correct.

managed to defeat the problem.
It can be seen after the previous migration from windows, the path to the root directory became empty for some reason.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is "the uplines server" and the "the root OC password"?

In case you have a complex password with special characters, it may be worth trying to set it to something like "VMware1!" or "Broadcom1!" for the upgrade, to see whether this makes a difference.

As stated above, change password to something with no odd characters. The underline being the devil of all things to put in any naming or password...just don't do it

I have already changed
the password 10 times without special characters in root cannot be installed

After you reset the password, were you able to access vcenter management page using the root account ? (vcenter:5480)
